It's been a while since I've blogged about vintage children's book illustrations - here are three more I bought recently from the States - the first one is by Alice and Martin Provensen, the second illustrated by Ylva Kallstrom and the third by Marylin Hafner.

I love this kind of child's book ^_^ Fede
oh thank you so much for sharing, I'd forgotten about 'Roses are Red, are Violets Blue?' - my godmother had it and I used to read it at her hosue - time to get a copy for my kids, the pictures are gorgeous!
The first book by Alice and Martin Provensen is amazing. what great colours & illustration, love it!
Hooray for the Provensen's! They seem to have such a great range of styles of illustration - this one looks really cool. Love vintage childrens books - the pictures are so often addictive - super cute & simple in style
What a great post, thank you. This got me thinking about some brilliant vintage kid's books I have knocking around... The books I am most drawn to for my own children have a definite retro vibe about them.
I'm pretty sure I had Alonzo cat book when I was little :)
