I can't believe that one of my other huge inspirational figures has also died recently. Jessie Tait died 12th Feb aged 81. She designed for Midwinter and I grew up with her ceramics in my family and then later collected some myself. Unfortunately, these vases are taken from a photo in a book and don't belong to me.
To me, her designs still remain very contemporary and modern.

Oh no! I've only just discovered her work!
It's all so wonderfully fresh still, amazing designs.
Sorry to hear she's gone :-(
Wow, I love her work. Thanks for posting this, I had not heard of her.
I bought a beautiful midwinter teapot just last week and googled it to find out who the designer was and it was Jesse Taits "Quite Contrary" design. Her designs are so beautiful, how sad :(
That's such a lovely picture of her too. Such an amazing generation of designers. I wonder how much they all had to do with each other. I wish R4 would repeat this... http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/history/reunion/reunion5.shtml
